The BUTE Faculty of Mechanical Engineering works together with Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems Budapest since 2016 on R&D projects that will provide the materials, technologies, and methods of the future in the vehicle industry. In the framework of this cooperation Knorr-Bremse grants scolarships to the most talented students to work on one of these projects. Prof. Dominique Thévenin of the Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg was awarded an honorary doctorate degree of BUTE for his internationally recognized research activity and longstanding fruitful scientific relationship with BUTE. Our Department has been working together with professor Thévenin on the organization of the CMFF (Conference on Modelling of Fluid Flows) conferences for a long time.
